Trophies
Each year the London International Club makes a Trophy available to the Club Member that catches the Best Specimen Fish in UK waters during the season. Previous catches included big bass, a 6 lbs Cod and a 14.3 lbs Pollack. This year the competition is well ongoing with a 10 lbs bass caught by Clive Thomas in June in Dorset… Who knows how it will end up!
For equality reasons the trophy is awarded for fish caught in UK waters only, as not all Club members have the opportunity to travel internationally.
In order to qualify for the award you need to follow the rules below:
| Be a London International Club member at the time of the catch and of the application | |
| Send an e-mail application to Paolo de Michelis. The application must include: |
| A written report on how and where the fish was caught. The report will be typically uploaded on the Club website | |
| Pictures of the diver with the fish, possibly with a reference object like a gun or a fin. | |
| Fish weight in kg or lbs. | |
| Picture of the scale to certify the weight or contact details of a witness (ideally a Club member) who certifies the weight |
| We all abide to a gentlemen's agreement, so don't cheat! | |
| Applications will be reviewed by the LIC Committee and the Trophy awarded once a year. The Committee decision is based on various factors, including but not limited to the size of the fish, the type and the difficulty of catching that particular species. Please note that Big does not mean Best; i.e. a 40 lbs conger eel is not necessarily better than a 10 lbs bass! Sorry lads… |
